Firstly look here

Insomnia Skateboards was founded in Melbourne in 2003. Insomnia is 100% skater owned and operated. They are committed to uncompromised quality in all aspects of their business.

And their business is skating.

Insomnia employed the studio to design and develop a style and for their first run of high-end skate clothing; a twist of casual-slick durable and, as always, black.

Here is a glimpse of the product that will go up on their site shortly.

We love that coat.

about

The following is from the Insomnia Skate home page

"Our skate team is a constant source of pride. Any skater that spends any amount of time on Melbourne’s streets will testify to the team’s respect.

James Kennedy has gained his reputation from ripping Melbourne city most nights. Speed, massive tweaked pop and impeccable style, combined with an enviable growing bag of tricks.

Sam George is a creative, ultra smooth skater. His lines are so effortless and clean. One of the best switch front flips around, keep an eye on this kid!

Josh Backman goes big, real big. Axa 15 first pop. He rips big transition and big rails too. Such big slams, but then just jumps up smiling like Jack Nicholson in “The shining”.

Demian Freeman has urban myth status in Australian skateboarding. He inspires the people that inspire you. A totally unique style and repertoire. He can come up with something never done on almost any spot.

Insomnia clothing is designed in collaboration with the esteemed designer and installation artist Sruli Recht. Sruli incorporates a blend of old school tailoring technique and construction with unique, innovative and challenging design. All the garments are manufactured in Melbourne from the finest materials using superior construction; utilising the strengths of flat fell seams and bypassing overlocking and quicker methods. All clothing is constructed in Melbourne by ethical manufacturers of excellence with generations of experience.

Timba is a gifted painter and designer. One of the rare graphic designers that can throw down something amazing on a canvas. Always up for a challenge, always coming up with something unique. Timba is behind “Wooden Toy" magazine which is one of the best things to happen for artists and skaters. Timba’s first full graphic designs will be out this summer. Summer 06 is when his t-shirts will drop and so will your jaws.

Rohan Hutchinson visually captures time in a emotive way. Whether it is moody large format cityscapes or great timing and aesthetics photographing a skater. Always up for a mission, outdrinks men twice his size.

We are committed to our core ethics and vision and time will prove so. We are proud of what we create.

Integrity through quality."
